XTOSTUDIO is an independent creative practice based in Heraklion, Crete, exploring the meeting point of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
Born from a desire to give new relevance and visibility to Greek craftsmanship, the studio brings inherited techniques into new conversations with materials, forms, and ways of living.
Through original collections and creative collaborations, XTOSTUDIO seeks to give craftsmanship a place in the present—not simply by preserving what came before, but by imagining what it can become.

Greece carries a remarkable heritage of craftsmanship, shaped by generations of makers. Yet many traditional skills risk disappearing as industrial production replaces knowledge once passed from one generation to the next.
Rooted in Crete, XTOSTUDIO seeks to reconnect this knowledge with contemporary creativity, while remaining open to ideas and influences from around the world.

Collaboration lies at the heart of XTOSTUDIO. It brings together the knowledge of artisans and specialists with the perspectives of the people who discover, experience and live with the objects.
Through this exchange, the studio seeks to create opportunities for participation, co-creation and new ways of connecting craftsmanship with everyday life.
Christos Stefanoudakis
XTOSTUDIO was founded by Christos Stefanoudakis, bringing years of international experience in product design and creation.
Having worked across different cultures and creative disciplines, including as a Creative Leader at IKEA in Shanghai, Christos developed an approach that connects research, experimentation, and an understanding of how objects become part of everyday life.
Returning his attention to the craft heritage of Greece, he established XTOSTUDIO as a space where this experience could meet the knowledge and skills of local artisans.
His practice moves between the conceptual and the practical, from an initial idea to the development of an object, always leaving room for experimentation and collaboration.
